Pros

None at all, don't work here

Cons

Management is a mess. Staff turnover is high, people even leaving within days of being hired- some even leave on the day and don't come back. No structure, health and safety is a mess. The hotel is disgusting and has many problems with bedbugs, water etc which everyone who works there knows about but they will never fix it, they expect us to lie to guests and say this has never happened before even if it happens daily. Policy is always to lie, not be helpful, and patch things up. Some nice people do work here but nearly everyone wants to leave, you hear people constantly talking about other interviews and quitting. Management doesn't seem to try and keep people, instead they hire 16 year olds with no experience and put them on shifts with only one person to train them, without giving us more money for having to train new people. Some people who work at st giles are downright rude, especially the 'st giles family' who have been there years. Probably annoyed that you will be leaving and they have to stick around.

Pros

-High pay, daily and weekly overtime, commission program -Unionized -Benefits include health, vision, dental, limited laundry service, TransitChek -Nontraditional schedules allows for other jobs, activities, school, etc

Cons

-FOM as of this writing always effs up the schedule -Poor communication from management about schedules, changes, programs; unapologetic about it...you'll be blamed for their mistakes -No employee handbook except basic HR policies, so things often learned on the fly, late in the game -Incompetence rampant among directors; never hear from them, just bear the brunt of their mistakes -HR deathly slow about issues you bring up to them -Management seemingly unaware of union rules so keen to break them for their benefit -24/7 culture means working odd hours (graveyards, holidays, weekends etc) -Owners live in Malaysia so difficult to reach them
