Pros

There are some talented friendly people working here, and the experience will prepare you well for any other challenges you might face in future volatile work environments. Flexible working from home means an opportunity for work-life balance. They invest well in IT systems and software tools for their teams

Cons

Honestly, it's hard to know where to start here. TLDR: There are so many issues with this company I can't imagine how they can be resolved at this point as the core problems are poor management and communication right from the very top. Chaotic strategy and execution, mismanagement of expectations with investors and unrealistic expectations falling on to front line sales, customer success, and sales engineers. Avoid this company at all costs. In full: - Management does not listen to feedback from employees regarding market challenges, or even multiple reports of bullying. Taking too long to react to reports on these issues created long-term damage to the culture, morale, and revenue generation for the company, especially in certain EMEA territories. -Poorly thought-through strategy and execution, and mismanaged expectations with investors has ultimately led to shifting of responsibility downstream and increasing targets for teams who have no hope of realistically meeting expectations. - Product is a 'nice to have' not a 'must have' for customers - The best performing sales reps in EMEA take 3 or 4 years to just hit their target - Considering the solution Staffbase sells is for communication, transparency and employee engagement, Staffbase has done an incredible job of showing exactly how badly things can go when you don't create a culture of active listening and engagement. - Transparency in communication (such as that around recent layoffs) has been terrible with little to no acknowledgment from senior management for their mistakes, such as bad acquisition decisions being a contributing factor that led to a poor financial situation for the company.

Thank you for the feedback. We're glad to hear that you've had the opportunity to work with talented and friendly colleagues, and that you believe your experience here can prepare you for future challenges in dynamic work environments. Our commitment to flexible working arrangements and investment in IT systems and tools is something we take pride in, as it reflects our dedication to creating a positive work environment. We deeply regret that you've encountered challenges during your time here. Your concerns regarding management, communication, and strategic execution are noted, and we understand the critical importance of addressing these issues. It's concerning to hear that feedback about market challenges has not been acted upon promptly. We take such matters seriously and will work to improve our response mechanisms. Your advice on listening more closely to our employees is well-received. We believe that listening to our team members is crucial in improving our organization, and we have measures in place (quarterly employee surveys, feedback talks with direct reports, anonymous letterbox for upper management questions) that ensure we are attentive to your feedback. If you have any additional comments or suggestions, please do not hesitate to reach out to our PX department (join@staffbase.com) or relevant managers. We wish you the best in your future endeavors.

Pros

The people here have been such a highlight during my time at Staffbase. The company is full of driven, caring people, and our product is best in the industry, so it's easy to be proud of what we do. The company was founded in Germany so there's a lot of European values embedded in the company and benefits offered to employees (flexible schedules, 30 vacation days and Fridays off in August!). The vibe at work is energetic and ambitious - we are a 10 year old start up who's moved into "scale up" mode, so the growth mindset is still very much alive.

Cons

I can't think of many cons, but I will say it is a very global business, and that means I see most people working outside of typical 9-5 business hours. For some, I imagine that would be a deal breaker.
