Pros

Working at StandDesk is mentally stimulating where there is never a dull moment. The work is challenging and there is flexibility to work remotely.

Cons

Bi-polar, ADD and micromanagement is a consistent theme. Priorities change like the wind resulting in wasted time and frustrated employees. Duties outside of job scope are regularly delegated without proper compensation. Employees are misdirected, bullied, disrespected and underpaid. Unsanitary office environment where dishes washed in bathroom and dried next to toilet and bidet. By far, the most misguided, stressful and underappreciated places to work.

Thank you for your honesty. There's always a lesson within constructive criticism, so we'll internalize the advice and create processes to improve management and leadership. No company is perfect/great/amazing from the beginning. In fact, feedback like this helps us to understand our faults and improve - thank you. I do feel this review is a bit unfair because it's a blank review and there's no context. Therefore, I'll write my response based on the limited information of the situation: 1) "Poor Penny Pinching Leadership" - Yes, leadership is very frugal with spending in the wrong areas: expensive office, trips, etc. We take those savings and pass them on to our customers or investing back into the infrastructure of the company. 2) "Bi-Polar, ADD, & Micromanagement" - The words used are a bit over-exaggerated. No? The strength of a startup is they are able to respond to the market conditions and we're able to "fail fast, cut losses, move-on". Our market has changed significantly over the last few years and so have we. It would be unwise for a company not to change course if you're flying into a mountain. 3) "Duties outside of job scope" - Yes, this will happen from time-to-time, especially if you're put on a special assignment, but that should be only 10-20% of the time. When you were 1st on-boarded we clearly explain to you that you are joining a "start-up" company and roles and responsibilities may change. In terms of compensation increases, this must be mutually agreed upon with management. If there was a disagreement or if you felt you were being underpaid, then this concern should have been effectively communicated with management. 3) "Misdirected, bullied, and disrespected" - I wish there was more context to this, but my opinion after an investigation with the company about these accusations is that there was a communication issue. No one in the company has the job description to "misdirect, bully, and disrespect". This may happen, but we have strong policies around this in our employee handbook. It's unfair to write this review making it sounds like this happens every moment at StandDesk. 4) Unsanitary Office - Our offices are cleaned and sanitized daily. We don't have active policies around where team members dry their dishes because that would be micromanaging. Net summary, as a company there's always room to grow and we strive every day to be better than the last. When working people, it's extremely important to find the right fit between culture, experience, skill, etc. - otherwise, sometimes no matter what you do is wrong. Pros

Life is exciting at StandDesk, there are new challenges and opportunities every day. The leadership really cares about my growth and continually invests in my training. The work is not easy sometimes, but it's rewarding once you figure it out. The work life balance is awesome, we're able to work virtually and come into the office, so you get the best of both worlds.

Cons

The team has been growing rapidly and there have been many changes, sometimes hard to keep up.
