If you get a good site can be a wonderful job. Although managers are pretty cool and want to help out. Benefits are outstanding, 401K... mediocre. If you are a experienced 'brown noser' you'll do well in the Security industry!
Cons
Choice of supervisors is not based on any experience- it based on who can kiss the brass ring. Upward mobility is nonexistent- too many jealous gatekeepers. Getting ahead in this industry is not merit based, but they will have you do all kinds of silly test disguised as upward mobility opportunities, in reality it's just a total waste of your time... nothing is merit based remember. Union is only interested in getting paid- they are too much the conformist to deal with any substantial grievance, they will side with management in a heartbeat- and push a Leftist ideology.
