Pros
Educating clients and assisting them in their times of need felt really great when the customers appreciated what you were doing for them. I learned something new everday, insurance education is endless.
Cons
Clients think insurance is a garage sale or swap meet, some won't give you any personal information but expect for you to be able to quote them, they are unaware that it is state regulated. There are some rude people out there who hate insurance workers (even if they are the ones who contacted you for a quote). Clients don't care if you had to go to school and get licensed to handle insurance and have years of experience in the insurance industry, they always know everything about their insurance because of what their neighbor's claim consisted of, or what they heard from a friend, or some people think they have no deductible because some guy at a car wash told them that. It's hard working for an agent within the first years of opening their business. Many of them change their procedures on a month to month basis which devistates employees' commissions and bonuses since they're not giving enough time for employees to master a new technique and really see if it helps sales.
