Pros

The people you work with in the office are good, for the most part

Cons

This is a review for Luka Cline State Farm Agency in Roswell, GA. Everything else about this place is a con. Management, or lack thereof, from the owners is absolutely terrible. They try to intimidate or threaten you into working hard rather than coach you and help you succeed. If you don't agree with what they say and even present your side in a calm and logical manner, you will most likely be let go. They do not support communication at all, it's just do-as-your-told. All they care about is making money off young people just starting their careers by promising them their own agency one day if they make enough sales. They tell the sales reps that they will make an average of $50,000 when it is a struggle to even make $25,000 for most. They force everyone, even customer service, to work overtime every week with no appreciation or additional compensation. It is absolute torture for everyone there. There is a complete lack of respect or gratitude for their employees. They even have fired people over the phone and text – no common decency to even meet with them to do it or give any sort of warning/chance to improve at all. There is also a lack of discipline for actual negative behavior - they implicitly condone sneaky behavior from sales representatives. Stay away at all costs, it is not worth it! You’ll probably make more flipping burgers.

Pros

(At the time) Fair pay and predictable bonus structure They were pretty good at covering travel expenses and paying them back quickly Diverse workforce & diversity initiatives Fun and funny coworkers Opportunities for growth Again, this was all four years ago and has likely changed

Cons

(At the time and now, according to other comments) Arrogant to a fault Total lack of innovation & willingness to innovate Odd attachment to the company's past (which prevents progress) High number of veterans (20+ years) who are determined to get that retirement money, and therefore, are resistant to change and technology Heavy reliance on command and control management style Poor decision-making that leads to losses of all kinds
