Pros
Wow. Looks like there's a lot of propaganda and rating manipulation going on here from both sides. You can see it in the timing patterns of reviews and responses so let me give you the truth. The company has a tumultuous history, but that means lots of opportunity to come in and try to create positive change. Emphasis on "try" because many others have tried and been unsuccessful in the past. You'll get to take on lots of projects and practically have a green field experience. Most of the people here are awesome and what is being built is game-changing.
Cons
Pros aside, there's high turnover here for a reason (even in management where we're on our 2nd CEO and 3rd VPE in just over 2 years. Leadership and management hasn't been the best. A lot of time has been spent on fundraising and not enough time has been spent on building a good company with regards to focusing our attention on a specific piece of the market, improving corporate culture, and generally managing and taking care of employees. Unfortunate, but props to them for making sure not a single payroll has been missed. However, there's still a lack of best practices in place, consistent management/treatment of employees, and not enough results from the work we've done. Morale is low and there's also still some sting from the last round of layoffs. Along the way we've had toxic, unprofessional employees who yell, treat others poorly, and/or underperform and most are gone, but not all. That's the reason for a fair number of departures here and it feeds into our problems with securing talent. Managers want something different than the team and typically goes after personal wants rather than corporate needs. Most of our hires used to come from referrals. Now you'd be hard pressed to find people here that are willing to refer their friends and family even after we implemented a referral payout program.
