Roles are not always clearly defined; don't expect to be doing what your job description says, but do expect to be micromanaged. Corporate and local management have different ideas on how things should work, and if you ask different levels of management a question, you'll get different answers. Each level blames the next. Middle management says "It's this way because HR says so." But you ask HR, and it's "No, that's never been the policy, that's up to individual managers." Given that one of the core values is accountability, that's just shameful.
