Pros
Some (stress only some) nice people. Good working environment. Hours are not that demanding. Good life/work balance.
Cons
Despite having $50 billion in AUM, it feels like working for a start-up but with no leadership. There are so many flaws with this company, which was cobbled together via multiple mergers/reorganizations, they are too many to list here. There is no executive management. BB&T (parent) could care less about Sterling. The company is a total joke by the standards of any other reputable asset manager and really has nothing to offer in today's environment where active management is challenged. Their fees are high. They have basically no strategy. Stay away from this mess unless really desperate.
