Pros
This is the best company I have ever worked for on multiple fronts.
Trust: Management trusts employees to do their jobs. I've had a lot of jobs where micromanagement rules. This is definitely not that kind of environment. I feel completely trusted in my area of expertise. Upper management is always there to connect with, but when I'm tasked with completing my job, they have complete faith in my opinion and decisions and let me run with it.
Growth: Individual growth within the company is highly supported and encouraged. They provide the means to learn new skills when you express interest and provide a clear path to grow with the company. Growth of the company as a whole is also main goal, and they willingly and proactively hire new people as we grow our client base (avoiding overloading the current employees). We all work hard and pull the occasional overtime when a big deadline is looming, but I've never felt a sustained pattern of being overworked since I started this position.
Work/Life Balance: This is something Storagely is built upon and unlike several other companies I've worked for, it's not just talk. Company policies, benefits, and management's dealings with employees are all centered around a true belief in the importance of family and work/life balance. Practicing what they preach is nearly unheard of these days in my opinion and much appreciated. They truly care about their employees as human beings with families and lives outside of work.
Flexibility: We're all remote, so the flexibility to travel and work has been life changing for me. Prior to this job I only had positions with 2 weeks of vacation, but otherwise required to be in-office. It's amazing not to be completely tethered in one place for all but two weeks of the year. We’re all in different time zones, so work hours are flexible as well.
Benefits: Storagely offers the absolute best benefits package I've ever held at a job, between unlimited PTO, medical, retirement savings, etc.
Adaption to Future Proof the Company: I've had a lot of jobs where I've felt a stressful lack of stability depending on the state of the economy, especially being in the creative field for most of my career (one of the first areas to be cut when layoffs happen). Nobody can see the future, but management runs this company smartly, watching trends in different industries and adapting to make the company as future proof as possible. Nobody is ever 100% stable at all times, but it's a relief to know that there are some checks in place.
Teamwork: I feel like everyone in the company actually cares about Storagely being a success and works hard to make that true—from the top, down. Even though we're all remote, we work closely together day in and day out and I don't feel like I'm in a vacuum working remotely like I thought I would.
I could go on and on. I never realized how terrible some of the other jobs I’ve held and some of the other management I experienced were until I worked at Storagely.
Cons
I don't have anything negative to say. Every job has its ups and downs, but I've had really, really negative, manipulative workplaces so this place really stands out in the positive.
