Pros

- Entry-level SaaS - The mission is great. If you have a perspective on financial markets and how they have an impact on the needs of everyday workers, working for this company will help you hone that perspective - Extremely flexible work-from-home environment, as long as you get your work done. Great Work/Life balance is probably the biggest pro - Highly emphatic of problem-solving techniques and cross-departmental communication, which for me is a plus

Cons

Basically the same challenges that I understand many can experience in start-up environments (I have been in two startup environments, before and after COVID): - Goals change often. There can be large redundancies without notice - Priorities change often, creating communication difficulties - Underpaid based on position averages on Glassdoor - Very little sense of mobility, from an entry-level perspective - Performance reviews are focused on upcoming product issues and not on the value, growth, or performance needs of my role as the worker - Lack of understanding how to build a vibrant work culture from the top down, while protecting the asset needs of the company, its people, and its scalable products

Pros

If you're considering an opportunity at Wagestream, I’d like to provide you with a candid perspective from my years of experience at the company, going all the way back to 2019. To sum it up quickly: while not without its imperfections, Wagestream is an incredible organization filled with exceptional, driven, and dedicated individuals. Surrounding yourself with such talent could be transformative for your career, as long as you maintain realistic expectations and stay focused on your goals. It's evident that the company's recent endeavors have sparked skepticism and even, at times, hostility, not all of it totally unfounded. However, while I acknowledge the jarring impact of some actions and the understandable frustration of those who found themselves in challenging situations, I believe that the sentiments expressed in certain Glassdoor reviews over the past year do not accurately capture the overall experiences of the majority within the company. Many of these reviews fail to consider the behind-the-scenes complexities, especially in the context of startup culture. The concerns raised in these reviews are multi-faceted, and I feel it's important to recognize that individual perspectives might not always align with the complete reality or at times, may have lacked vital information. That said, there are a few items addressed in certain reviews that bring up valid concerns that could have and should have been handled with greater care. To be absolutely transparent, I have certainly had moments of strong disagreement and have been utterly frustrated or even dismayed by certain decisions and actions taken by the business. Unsurprisingly, these have mostly occurred within the last year as Wagestream is navigating increased complexities, moving from a plucky start-up to a more mature stage of growth. Nonetheless, if the right opportunity presented itself, I would eagerly jump back into the fold without hesitation—tomorrow. Why, you might ask? Because at Wagestream, everyone is wholeheartedly committed to creating positive change while achieving business success. The pace is exhilarating, requiring adaptability and acknowledging that missteps are part of the journey. But in the midst of it all, innovation thrives, and you can play a pivotal role in shaping it, no matter your position. Now, you might be wondering why I chose to leave. My departure was motivated by the fact that my role was no longer essential for the company's current trajectory, and the available options didn't align with my career aspirations. It's a straightforward reality of startup culture, and I harbor no ill feelings. The company graciously supported my decision and went above and beyond to assist in my transition. The People team at Wagestream are absolute heroes, who truly care about the well-being of their staff, past and present. In closing, Wagestream isn't flawless, but the dedication, innovation, and sense of purpose that permeate the company are remarkable. Embrace the dynamic nature, contribute to the ongoing transformation, and you could find yourself on an exciting journey of personal and professional growth. Success here requires perspective, adaptability, and a proactive approach. Your experience can be as enriching as you make it.

Cons

The company is going through some growing pains that might be tough for some, but overall, the hard decisions have already been made, if you're being brought on at this stage, you most likely have a bright future.
