We thank you for sharing your experience and giving us the opportunity to address your concerns, as well as the patient-focused approach you have in the care that you provide. The beautiful patients and families are why we are here as well! In Private Duty Nursing, the specific niche healthcare industry that we are involved in, compensation is completely dependent on the funding source for the patients' care. Inherently, this imposes a few limitations that I apologize you were not aware of. Namely, PDN companies as a whole struggle to compete with the limitless opportunities nurses have when it comes to compensation because of this. We would actually agree with you that the pay can be unfair in accordance for what you all do for the patients and families. The very reason we are unable to give out raises is because of how serious we are about getting our patients the care they deserve. What we mean is that given set limitations, we always offer the best we can for any given patient. This IS unfair, meaning that even if you had worked another 5 years with this given patient we wouldn't have been able to give you a raise unless the sources that fund their care were able to (we have people on the phone with these sources for hours every day advocating for the nurses and families in this regard). The only option any of us have in life is to focus on what we can control and do our best to accept the things we can't. That is one premise our CEO started the company on and we will continue STRIVING to do just that. Unaware of these limitations, you still worked within them for 4 YEARS! What you have expressed here shows that you are the definition of a Private Duty Nurse and we are honored to have worked with you. We regret we couldn't offer rates conducive to your financial goals. On behalf of Strive and the patients and families you worked with, I thank you for every second of your time with us!
