Pros
I enjoyed working with all of my doctors and O.R. personnel, and developed lasting professional relationships with each of them.
Cons
Stryker holds a poor reputation in the Medical Device field with specific hospitals due to their failure to follow protocol. When warehouse personnel and SPD employees fail to follow protocol the blame falls entirely on the Reps shoulders - it becomes extremely draining to work tirelessly just to have your fait sit in the hands of someone else; someone that may not be as driven to accomplish the end goal correctly. If, but more like when, a mix up does occur the Rep is let go from the company while the employee that failed to follow protocol is simply suspended for a few days. It is impossible to give 100% effort 100% of the time when being reprimanded for occurrences that are completely out of your hands. Favoritism is shown to Reps based on their athletic ability and enjoyment for sport rather than their professional achievements, ability to meet sales projections, and develop professional relationships with their hospital contacts. Double standards were constant in the work place as far as management was concerned - some reps were let go over an issue another rep was simply slapped on the wrist for. Developing professional relationships with doctors and O.R. personnel in the Medical Device field is key to being a good Rep, but is somehow overlooked by management or at times, belittled.
