Pros
Advanced Operations essentially handles most of the 'new' project in Stryker Orthopaedics, and they are a group of project managers that get assigned to deliver projects into operations. It is very exciting work, very impactful, and you get to work with multiple groups in the division or even across divisions, as I did. Specific Pros include: - Great mentorship and delegation of responsibility from upper management - Great visibility to upper management - Great company talent and horizontal and upward mobility (Top 100 Companies to work for - not a lie!) - Every day is different in a new project - You have your hands in impacting something very tangible - You're working with the brightest people in the company
Cons
- "Cult"-like company culture will unnerve you at first, but it starts to make sense eventually - There are still some politics involved with this prestigious group - International projects are slightly harder to come by (though most projects do involve the main manufacturing plants in the US and Ireland) - You're never really someone's 'manager'
