Pros
The thing that I liked about Sunbelt is this never put any pressure on me to work long hours, unlike the job I have now where I am a salaried employee and do not get compensated for any overtime worked. They actually did everything in their power to only let you work 40 hours a week. But the pros ended there for me.
Cons
I took this job directly out of college because I needed a job quickly. Upon starting the job I noticed that the job description that we talked about in the interview and what I was actually doing were two completely different things. That didn’t bother me a much because at the time I was collecting a paycheck. What bothered me was I was informed that I was put on a 90 day temp – to – hire position. That was also ok with me until the 90 days ran up and they were now on a hiring freeze, and would allow me to continue to work as a temp without any benefits. After every month end you have a monthly review were essentially you sit in an office with your supervisor and she talks to you like a child. Example: “You had 15 errors on 2700 invoices this month. Now let’s go through your errors. On this invoice you used the shipping date instead of the invoice date.” This would be a 30 – 45 minute meeting on these and I would be ready to bang my head against the wall. Just give to me and I can analyze what I did wrong. There was also no room to move up in the company. For me my goal is to one day to become a CFO or company Controller. At Sunbelt you will be pigeon holed to whatever department you join whether it’s A/R or A/P.
