Pros

Coworkers are great Talk about video games with callers. Most callers are really cool. Trainer is amazing. Pretty easy job. Guaranteed 40 hours a week, you can make up the hours you miss. Self service shift swapping, all you have to do is notify your direct supervisor. Overtime can be used to leave early or extend lunch. Abusive caller policy. You don't have to sit there and let someone yell at you.

Cons

If you're a late night person like me, hours are bad. Latest open is 2am EST during the week. Weekends we close at 9. Because we're open from 9am-2am EST during the week and 9am-9pm on weekends, you won't have much of a life, but that goes for many jobs. All times are in eastern, so you have to be mindful of your time zones, which can lead to some confusion. No overtime unless stated otherwise, which is rare. Depending on your direct supervisor, you'll have a hard time getting in touch with them. Support never has enough agents, so if you need help, it can take awhile to get help. Family emergencies count against you. If you need to leave suddenly, it's an unapproved absence. Constant tech issues. Some have been out for a week because of their phone not working, and sometimes you have to log early due to them not being able to fix something, if you are effected. Happens a lot. You can be on a call for as long as callers need help, which means you can be on a call for as long as needed. Longest call I've had was nearly three hours. Some have had four hour calls.

Pros

Remote work and great coworkers

Cons

Extremely low pay for the amount of work and the type of calls that you have to deal with. Lots of mircomanaging. Unrealistic metrics. Lack of knowledge and competency from leadership because at no point should your workers know more than you about the job itself. No care for unforseen life circumstances that affect your ability to work. Very stressful and mentally exhausting which often leads to burnout. No recognition for hard work and meeting metric goals. Too hard to get PTO approved. Tech and internal systems are always breaking which affects your ability to do your job. No one is ever on the same page which often leads to being given incorrect information. No room for growth or opportunities to go into other roles. Benefits are not that great. Mid health insurance plans, no 401K match, no parental leave, and no internet reimbursements. They'll sell you a fairytale in training so BEWARE.
