Pros

the health insurance isn't bad, free therapy through the company, the coworkers and those who work in the shelter day in and day out are phenomenal humans with incredible personalities, work ethics, and hearts.

Cons

bad culture, toxic work environment, middle management tends to quit regularly due to the communication (or lack thereof) from upper management and for unrealistic and unreasonable expectations placed on staff, someone can have less qualifications than you and easier job and have you be doing parts of their job and make more money than you, management has hired people on at 16$/hr and others 17$/hr with no discernible difference in education or skills in the company. Those in management have universally risen to their level of incompetence so don't expect adequate support, good advice, or to feel valued, respected, or dignified in any work you do for them. This company is a mess and is more focused on growth than it is putting out any kind of quality support for staff, clients, or the communities they serve.

Pros

The mission itself can feel meaningful especially when you engage with residents. Field promotions...

Cons

Poor work life balance. Culture that discourages honest feedback. Leadership structure is rigid and a clique. Burnout is normalized Benefits and support do not match the demands of the job Field promotions since everyone you know will be fired or quit. You will get a promotion but the pay is peanuts compared to what the job entails no matter the role.
