Pros
Work is fun, if you love science. In my time, my coworkers at or around my level were great. They let you sort of pick your hours - I always came in at 6am, another coworker came a little earlier, so we could leave earlier in the day. That was really nice. You are not micromanaged, which is also great if you feel competent.
Cons
Really really bad compensation, which is a reflection on how they view employees. I had zero vacation days when I started. At one year, we got 5 days off. My first year there I had to take a day off and was required to come in on a Saturday and Sunday because apparently on weekends there is “less to do” so two weekends days were equivalent to one weekday. Salary was insulting for a “Master’s preferred” position. I took the job as a new grad and got out as fast as I could when my resume was a little built up. My team all felt the same. Within a three month period, 5 of us left for the same reasons.
