Pros

- Talented and intelligent colleagues who genuinely cared about their work. - Prior to new leadership, there were clear team structures which made it easy to be productive and get things done.

Cons

- New leadership dismantled stable and effective teams. Entire QA org eliminated, project managers laid off or reassigned. - Leadership obsession with AI adoption including tracked usage metrics and a mandatory “AI hackathon” day. - After a long-overdue anonymous “pulse check” survey, instead of addressing the feedback, the company responded with a mass layoff. - What remains of engineering is a skeleton crew, with eliminated roles now being filled by cheaper contractors. Syndio once championed pay equity and now openly markets itself as helping employers ensure they don’t “overcompensate” employees. This new mission statement is plastered across the landing page and is diametrically opposed to the careers page which still touts the old mission.

Pros

I’ve had a very positive experience working here. The company is well organized, thoughtful in how it operates, and supported by people who genuinely care about doing excellent work. One of the things that stands out most is the level of clarity across the organization. Teams communicate well, priorities are clear, and there is a strong sense of ownership. Instead of feeling like work is constantly getting lost or duplicated, there is a shared understanding of who owns what and how things move forward.

Cons

The culture is highly collaborative. People are willing to help, share context, and improve the way work gets done. Processes are documented, workflows are clear, and leadership continues to invest in making the company more scalable and effective. It's not a con, but we're getting better all the time. There's small challenges today but we have the leadership to overcome them. Overall, this is a strong, well-run organization with talented people, clear direction, and a culture that supports both individual contribution and team success.

Pros

The ranks are full of smart, kind people doing their best. Access to modern AI engineering tooling.

Cons

Fickle leadership. Chasing a new shiny thing after selling something else (that still isn't finished). Constant restructuring – there are leadership changes every month. Poor execution. Ship dates slip again and again without reflection or retrospectives. Delusional positivity from leaders in the face of a failing business. Flooded with AI slop. Celebrates churning out AI-generated documents that no one reads. Lack of transparency. Leadership is secretive with important information (financials, operations, staffing changes). A large influx of people with prior relationships has worsened this.
