HR deceptive with their compensation, quoting wages that they cannot go above which are not true. Our wage scale for the same position varies by about 30% with no regard to work ethic or capability. Just say no to your first offer no matter what.
Expect raises of ~1-3% year based on performance, regardless of anything you do that's exceptional.
Some people just don't show up to work frequently and management just lets them get away with it.
