Pros
The books, artists, authors are all terrific. Most coworkers were also great. Generally they are positioned as a creative, good, forward thinking international company, at least in the areas they publish. They paid 100% health benefits (though not the best plan), and gave a substantial matching contribution to 401k.
Cons
I strongly disliked the arrogance of senior management toward both their resale customers and their employees. They had an inability to listen to real feedback from customers. All employees work long, long hours. The company had constantly changing priorities, disorganized, often confusing and poorly thought-out policies. "Penny-wise, pound foolish" spending. Inability to match their rhetoric (cutting edge, progressive) and reality (greed, hostile to customers, marketplace norms). Micro-management of employees. Much lower than average salary. Inability to value experience of key employees, or even their long time and most loyal customers.
