Pros

They gave me an opportunity. The benefits are nice. The technicians and staff at my facilities are pretty good to work with.(Yes, I know that last part is not related to Trimedx, but I'm reaching for "pros" here)

Cons

For the sake of fairness it must be said that some of peoples opinion about this company can be influenced more or less favorably by your particular hospital system's governing body, management or if you're in the corporate office. The most important thing to state is that as a technician, you are going to get used and abused. You probably will be put into ethical dilemmas regularly. You will CONSTANTLY be asked to go "above and beyond" and receive very little in return. Management often asks for tech suggestions for improve work efficiency, etc and then basically come up with plans which tend to defeat most, if not all of the techs suggestions. I personally, along with other members of the biomed staff, have been given partial truth answers to a variety of levels of questions that we are only asking to help improve our job performance and customer relations. For example, a simple question about specific PA procedures was recently met with an unsettling amount of "double-speak" and "dodging". That should be a somewhat simple, straight-forward answer. When management "helps" it tends to lead to more work for you the technician. The yearly employee job performance review is a joke...as in, it sort of exists, but it doesn't actually benefit you. They give no bonuses for work well done and are very stingy with raises. I've been with them 3 years officially (plus 1 year interning) and have been asked to do more than you could imagine....and I can't even get an audience for a raise request or anything else for that matter. And I am not alone! My site alone has lost a few good techs in these 3-4 years because of Trimedx ridiculous adherence to metrics, the lack of consistent training, the lack of transparency, the ethical dilemmas we've been forced into and the lack of bonus or raise opportunities.

Pros

PTO, Great Atmosphere at least in my area.

Cons

PAY. They want to give them easily 3% a year so you are making less money each year because inflation is usually higher than that. The only way to get more money is to gain some experience and training through traumatics and then leave to an OEM or something similar to get paid what you're worth. Just causes a lot of turnover and it's very hard to find new people with any experience so you are constantly doing the job of multiple people. It's a vicious cycle all because they don't want to pay people what they're worth as they progress in their career instead they would rather wait until the next guy comes in pay him even more than someone was asking for plus they still have to send him to all the trainings that the other guy had already completed. Just a poor business model that makes no sense to me.
