TSA (Transportation Security Administration)

Is this your company?

A job that does nothing but leave a consistent sour taste in your mouth. - Tso TSA (Transportation Security Administration) Employee Review

Pros

The pay is decent, with paid time off accrued and accrued sick leave, better benefits than retail. Experience on how to deal with angry people. Guaranteed two days off. A foot in the door for further federal work. Leads, Behavior Detection Officers, and fellow officers are fantastic to work with. Promote solely from within.

Cons

There is constant contradiction on what the job is that is supposed to be performed. The mission is to secure the air ways yet they take away the ability to effectively do this. Management is quick to back stab. Unreasonably strict. Horrible shift hours. Little to no room for advancement. No loyalty from the agency towards employees. It is beyond difficult to ever take any of the time off that is accrued. Riddled with favoritism. Underappreciated. Management talks down to the individual. Those with college degrees are over looked on a regular basis for promotions. The agency is not really security oriented. Incredibly understaffed and they only hire part time.
