Due to folks staying on for long periods of time with minimal oversight, niche business knowledge has walked out the door often. Though Taco had had a long history of excellent benefits, there were some very harmful decisions on benefits and employee compensation in recent years leading to employee dissatisfaction and exits.
After 7 years of work at the company and providing 3 weeks notice that was used to document processes and train the people who would be backing up my work functions, I was not given an exit interview and the company did come to claim tuition reimbursement money 2 months after my exit, which is within their right, but disappointing. The policy on tuition reimbursement did change immediately before I enrolled in my Masters program to require partial repayment if you left before 3 years of completing courses, but I was disappointed that they chose to exercise that option on some courses after so many years working so hard for the company.
More so than that, I was exceptionally disappointed and hurt with the lack of an exit interview, because I had lots of information that I felt would be helpful for the company. There are some major issues that should probably be addressed that I would like to have made known to the company. I originally put up a review that aired out a couple of those issues, but chose to remove the review and write a more generic review. I am more than willing to discuss specifics if someone from Taco would like to reach out.
There was a period where 401k matches were stopped. They were later restarted. That same year, bonuses earned / promised / assured by management were not delivered. I nearly left at that time. In subsequent years, they were provided. Things did get better after that really awful year, but it is definitely not the company it once was.
