Pros
I enjoyed working with my co-workers; I had the opportunity to work with some amazing people. This position is a great stepping stone to pursue other careers within the human services field.
Cons
I went into case management to help others, however what I learned is that with every "non-profit" organization there is a business side. With Talbert House, I felt as though they were more concerned about the staff meeting quotas (billable hours) than the quality of service we were suppose to give to our clients. Trying to satisfy the business aspect of working for a organization like Talbert House while trying to provide excellent service to 50 clients that were on my caseload became exhausting. I felt like I was being overworked and underpaid...and I was. The pay along with the benefits provided were sub-par. For an organization that is suppose to provide services to help others within the community, they provided very little to its employees. When I worked there the organization had a very high staff turnaround.
