Pros
Whether you're hired seasonally, need a second job, or simply trying to find something steady just to pay your bills, you'll find that you get SO much more from Target than a paycheck. The unique philosophies and culture of this company are completely on the employees side, meaning that nearly every policy, practice, and program is designed for the well-being of its team members and toward becoming the "best company possible". The management at all levels has been energetic, respectful, competent, and reasonable to every team member they work with. Benefits (for full-time employees) are sound and high-quality, including a variety of cutting-edge financial plans. Opportunities for advancement are abundant, and Target prefers that when an upper level position opens that people are hired from within that same store. For example, just by showing in my first four months with the company that I was a responsible and hard worker, I was promoted twice--I went from a general sales floor position to a Team Lead with no prior experience in Target. They will always reward those who deserve it. Bottom line, you really have to try hard to have a negative experience with this company. The pros of working here, at any level, are so many and so strong that you will find your temporary hiring period turn in to a career decades long (I've seen it)!
Cons
The only negative aspect I can conjure may be that one tends to want to buy (most) everything in the store. I think I'm getting fairly close.
