Pros

Teachers - it's all about finding your 'teaching home' isn't it? Be it school, college or agency - and if you are looking around for a 'new home' - then stop looking and consider Targeted Provision! TP and I 'found' each other over 5 years ago and I have been 'at home' with them ever since! You see - I was looking for a 'family friendly' SEND agency that would not only provide me with students to teach - but would do so professionally, supportively and with a deep sense of, 'we're in this together.' The support never stops - I started teaching a new student only this week - and that same morning an encouraging 'wish you well' email arrived to send me on my way. Support for 'tricky' students is only a phone call or email away and a same day response is always appreciated. But the thing I love the most about TP is that it gives me the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of the students I teach. I've always been interested in neuro-diversity and mentoring - and working for TP has given me a unique perspective into the lives of some of our most vulnerable and 'hard to reach' children. This has enabled me to teach in a different ways and to open up learning to those who may have unable to access traditional methodologies and schools. I'm very happy with TP for lots of reasons! I wish you well as you look for your 'teacher home!'

Cons

I'm altogether positive about Targeted Provision.

Pros

None as I've had no work in a whole year.

Cons

I passed the interview and job sounded great. I have over 15 years experience as an ESOL tutor. I paid out for a DBS check and had two referees go out of their way for me. In a whole year I not had one referral. When I queried this, I was told that students have particular requests and I hadn't passed any of these. I just wonder why these things aren't picked up in the recruitment process. It's awful to waste people's time and money, never mind having them use referees that they may not be able to ask again.

Thank you for your review. I want to assure you that we always strive to match our tutors with opportunities that align with their skills and experience. However, since we rely on Local Authorities and Schools to reach out to us when they have a referral, and these requests are fully dependant on the needs of the young people, it can be challenging to predict how much work will be available at any given time. During the onboarding process, we do our best to communicate that there are no guaranteed hours to help set expectations. While we saw an increase in work in your area when you applied, things haven’t continued as we hoped, and we haven’t been able to recommend you for any placements yet. We completely understand your frustration and want you to know that we are committed to supporting the young people we work with by recruiting the best tutors who can truly make a difference. In the meantime, please do contact us if you would still be interested in continuing to be considered for work with us so that we may do our best to make this situation right.
