Pros

Coffee (you will need it for the lack of sleep you get due to the sheer anxiety from working at TES)

Cons

If you’re wise enough to check Glassdoor before taking a job here, let this review (and the many others saying the same thing) be your sign to find literally anything else. I worked in sales and the culture is awful—if you’re not talking with people, you’re being talked about. Almost every single manager that was there when I started had either quit or been fired within 12 months, including people who had been there for years and even upper management. Targets are completely unrealistic—not in a “you didn’t try hard enough” way, but in a way where basically no one hits them at all. Pay is all over the place too, with people in the exact same role being paid thousands of pounds more or less. When I asked for equal pay after 6 months I was put on a PIP ( I was even told during the interview process that pay would be increased at the 6 month mark). I even brought a detailed spreadsheet showing multiple people performing worse than me over six months, and was told “I don’t know them as well as you” or “that’s not my call to put them on one.” I was also belittled after being off sick because I went to get paracetamol from a petrol station and someone saw me, so apparently that meant I wasn’t actually ill. You’ll also be made to do “sales kick offs” with people asking you to “sell me this pen,” which says it all really. And when I handed in my notice, I was asked to attend an exit meeting with senior leadership by my manager who then couldn’t even be bothered to show up or speak to me despite sitting in the same office all day. I was told I couldn’t have garden leave because they don’t offer that, but another person in my team handed their notice a week or two after me and they were put on garden leave. I hope that gives you a beautiful summary of this company - who knows if the other departments are just as awful Oh also there is 0 career progression so don’t let them fool you if they say their is, just go somewhere else

Pros

Gives me the opportunity to solve unusual problems; coworkers from lots of different backgrounds; great Sheffield location

Cons

Favouritism seems heavy and focusses on the most incompetent Yes Men. Plenty of capable people are at the bottom of the heap - and you'll be pushed out fairly quickly when scapegoats are needed. Don't ask for additional responsibilities, because you'll get every single one. Unsupportive, unrealistic, and deeply dissatisfying environment.
