Pros

The pay is decent for the work that you do and it is generally a friendly environment, customers are usually very pleasant and everyone is focused on having fun. Management is generally nice and friendly, accommodating of student schedules.

Cons

Scheduling is erratic and not existent simultaneously. You may not be scheduled to work until 30 mins before your shift or you may lose a future shift and have no work for weeks at a time. Rather than take the initial loses management opts for "cost saving" methods. Management is inexperienced and struggles with policies and not knowledgeable enough to effectively manage location. Upper management seems to be playing location management for suckers, my suspicion is that they choose inexperienced personnel as a scapegoat in the future for liabilities.

Pros

Working with customers is natural, you are able to have normal conversations with them as well as explain the rules of the game and how to play. The other employees are very nice and there is definitely a sense of community between Austin Panic Room coworkers. When referring to my coworkers, I usually use the word "friend" instead of "coworker" because of the community we've created. Overall it is a fairly easy job as long as you are competent in customer service, as this is a HIGHLY customer-service based job.

Cons

Working here can sometimes be a challenge. There are many times when you are the only employee in the building and it can get overwhelming. There is also a very sketchy booking system, and sometimes people higher than managers will make bookings for a room the day of without telling anyone which is very frustrating. As long as you are on top of your schedule and you know the rooms by heart, it isn't too bad.
