Pros

New ownership that may possibly better work environment in the future. HR and Controller are both solid employees who want to help people advance

Cons

Stuck in old ways of doing business. The old owner still sticks around as a "regular employee" who still controls everything. The new president has no experience except for field work. Does not value his employees unless they are 'yes-men'. Is not open to new ideas. Won't give employees raises when due. Would rather fire or allow resignation to replace with cheaper help. Will never give you positive feedback, ever. Will trash you through your entire review. Does not care to provide sufficient, safe, and necessary tools and equipment for office workers, foremen, or pipe fitters. The entire company has a long history of illegal activities to maximize profits for the owner and the president. There are ZERO safety standards. No safety meetings, safety pauses, tool box talks, nothing. The president avoids conflict and difficult conversations. Never responds to requests to speak or meetings. The president will not allow growth within company. Project Managers are desk jockeys who have no clue what is going on with their jobs and direct any and all questions to their foremen instead of visiting their own sites. Foremen and fitters are provided with little to no benefits.

Pros

The Okay: The work isn't hard, it's the same old stuff every week. The director is a great guy and very appreciative to his employees but turns a blind eye when it comes to how HR (his wife) treats them.

Cons

The Bad: Benefits are very poor. Insurance not affordable on all salaries. 1 week PTO till you've been there for 3+years. PTO is your vacation, sick days, funeral leave, jury duty, everything (any time you are out of the office they take away PTO). Employee handbook not readily available (HR hides it but claims employees always have access to it even though they never inform you on where to look) career advancement is a joke. Raises are only issued when someone fights for it. The Horrible: HR takes advantage of the employees, never has anything good to say about anything, constantly lies or exaggerates the truth to make herself right, only hires people that don't have a spine. Does not follow labor laws, misclassifies employees to avoid paying for overtime but "requires" 45 hours a week. Summary: Don't work here unless you really need the money but keep looking for something else. This is not a long term career!
