It’s rare to find a company that truly lives up to its values, but Thatcham Research does exactly that. There is a strong emphasis on employee wellbeing and recognition, and everyone, from junior staff to the most senior management, is genuinely valued. This creates an exceptional working environment where people are passionate about their work and highly supportive of one another. I don’t think I’ve ever experienced a workplace where people are so happy to come to work and collaborate with such enthusiasm toward a shared goal. It’s an incredible group of talented individuals, and I feel genuinely privileged to be part of it.

No workplace is perfect, and there is always room for improvement. Internal communication and some processes can be slow at times, particularly as the company continues to grow and adapt to its increasing size. That said, management is always willing to listen, and issues are acknowledged rather than ignored.

Since joining, I’ve been able to challenge myself creatively and think more strategically, especially in my role assessing the repairability of vehicles whilst working in a great facility, using advanced IT tools and specialist software. My direct line manager is always receptive and constructive, and the wider team fosters a collaborative and encouraging environment. The benefits package is outstanding, work life balance is good, and there is a clear emphasis on internal progression. I’ve had the chance to grow professionally through technical and soft skills training, and I’ve also been able to take on extra responsibility when comfortable. Internal communication can sometimes be slow due to the organisation being so complex and the salary could definitely be increased to better match industry standards and the added skills required to carry out this specific role.
