Pros
- hire and train interns with no experience, good way to start your career
- opportunities for raises, growth & promotion, but often depends on turnover of people above you
- internal and external training and development, you get to go to industry events hosted at Google, Meta, LinkedIn, etc. and learn a lot, there are also in-house training sessions
- most managers are approachable and understanding, you can tell the company cares about employees and it's not all about money even though it's a small agency
- overall positive culture and regular social events, most people here are young and easy to get along with, willing to help if you have questions
- management welcomes new ideas from anyone and you can start or join a project not directly related to your work, it's a good way to get recognition but adds more work for you
- company cares about retention and some people have worked here many years, you get to make good relationships
- you get to work on a few different clients and learn different sides of digital marketing, not just focused on one thing
- never seen a full time employee being let go, job security is strong
- generous PTO and benefits
Cons
- some people are petty and gossip about coworkers and clients, and it can be uncomfortable if you are not a gossiper yourself, there is almost peer pressure to join in
- sometimes have to work long hours because of poor planning or urgent client requests, you have to advocate for yourself and tell your manager you have too much work. It's normalized to have to work overtime and you don't get paid extra
- most managers have been here for years and you are unlikely to get promoted unless someone leaves
- have to be in office at least 2 days a week and they will make you make it up if you miss a day, also no flexibility on hours so it's still a 9-5 even when you work from home you are expected to be online and responsive all the time
