Terrible company to work for - Anonymous employee The Anvil Group Employee Review

I read the other reviews here, including the 2 or 3 that have since disappeared, no doubt urged by a terrified Anvil. Thought i'd add my experience anyway for what's its worth. I have to agree, the other reviews are spot on. Anvil is an awful company to work for with the worst senior management I have ever seen or experienced. The company strategy seems to be based on, as someone else has mentioned, smoke and mirrors. All I witnessed and experienced was poor treatment of employees by dreadful senior leaders and just a general air of dishonesty. You can't get a straight answer from the top, they weren't interested. It would probably be better to look for other businesses in the region that respect their employees and work on values like integrity, honesty and looking after their people as you won't get that at Anvil. I found work quickly afterwards and couldn't believe I had put up with it for so long. Personally I found the whole experience draining. Some good people worked there, lots of people left for a number of negative reasons, a number of people carted off conveniently weeks before their 2 year point. I'd say if you aren't put off, look at the job description hold them to it, as recruiters seem to paint a rosey picture of the job. There seems to be a disparity between what you sign up for and your actual job. Anvil have great potential, if you removed the current ownership and senior leadership, they seem to be the ones holding the company back. Glad to see the back of the place.
