Pros

The Buckle is one of the only retailers right now who is "up" overall in net sales. We have no long-term debt and have a group of highly talented people leading the company. Buckle is around to stay and really recognizes their employees who work hard. There is also ample room to grow at Buckle depending upon how hard you work for it. Honestly, hard work does not go unnoticed in this company. If you are looking for a company that is growing rapidly but still holds "small time" firm qualities you have found the place. At Buckle you are not just a number. The CEO and Vise President know me by name and face and know what I have accomplished and what I am working on. No better feeling than to walk in to a meeting room and have the CEO know who you are before they have even met you.

Cons

The only complaint I have is the personal life balance. Buckle is my life right now and I would love to have some free time instead of working 70 hours a week.

Pros

-Good work-life balance. -Team-building is encouraged. -The experience can vary by location. -Buckle has the potential to have some of the best retail teams, depending on the store. -There are opportunities for growth and career advancement for employees who have supportive leadership.

Cons

Management's willingness to lead, communicate effectively, and support employees is what creates opportunities for growth, but that was not my experience at this location. I felt the work environment was negatively affected by inconsistent communication, a leadership style that felt overly controlling, and discussions about employees that appeared to undermine teamwork and trust. I believe a more respectful, supportive, and collaborative approach to leadership would create a healthier workplace culture and better support both employees and the overall success of the store.
