Pros

40% discount Creating relationships with the guests

Cons

Where to begin- everyone below the CEO and VP needs to go. It’s the cattiest, fakest company you’ll ever be a part of with over tenured/burnt out districts running the show- that select area managers that are chosen by friendship and not ability. MT’s are promised stores but less than 10% will ever go manage. Managers are selfish and sit in the back all the time while everyone else runs their stores for them. Somehow even when the bad managers do shady stuff, even down to theft and fraudulent layaways, it’s like they have immunity and are never reprimanded but other great managers get nit picked and micromanaged to death. That’s how they make people quit, they unfairly pick on you and start holding you to unbelievable standards when others aren’t and then you eventually get reviewed out. You’ll be asked to bend over backwards and work way too hard for the managers benefit.

Pros

-Good work-life balance. -Team-building is encouraged. -The experience can vary by location. -Buckle has the potential to have some of the best retail teams, depending on the store. -There are opportunities for growth and career advancement for employees who have supportive leadership.

Cons

Management's willingness to lead, communicate effectively, and support employees is what creates opportunities for growth, but that was not my experience at this location. I felt the work environment was negatively affected by inconsistent communication, a leadership style that felt overly controlling, and discussions about employees that appeared to undermine teamwork and trust. I believe a more respectful, supportive, and collaborative approach to leadership would create a healthier workplace culture and better support both employees and the overall success of the store.
