Pros

Interesting work. Good location between Tysons and Reston Silver Line. Security personnel are really good.

Cons

Hired too many people too quickly. Overestimated the amount of work from the client. Laid off 130+ people within 4 months time, including 60 just this week. Employees and teams are routinely pitted against each other. Being redirected multiple times per week is normal. Enterprise solutions do not get built that way. Trust the people you hire! Some recruiters lie to candidates about length of security clearance process, flex time policy,

Pros

It’s a company where you can build a long-term career because the management is supportive and competent. They care for your professional growth and where you want to go. The job is tough but if you are someone with a “can do” mindset, everything should be just fine. Hard work is recognized. The pay is competitive.

Cons

If you want to grow, you should be open to cooperation and new knowledge.

Pros

Came from a big integrator where you were a name (actually the same customer as buffalo group, but different contract). Like any company, I heard some good and bad about buffalo but decided to check them out based on some associates who really loved the company. So far I love it - doing some cutting edge work and from leadership on down, they are really invested in supporting their customer and projects. The biggie I came from cared about change orders, getting more $$ on contract, not working with other vendors to advance the mission....all probably tied to getting their stock higher. Buffalo is a family like atmosphere with very approachable managers - heck, i even had a 20 min conversation with the CEO. Everyone I spoke with was very forthcoming with the challenges they've faced, the success they've had, and the way ahead. Some of the things they have done, go way above and beyond what I've seen in other companies.

Cons

Diversify your customer base and continue to add new IT programs so developers can move around and advance their skills. Communication with employees has been great, but would love to has some all-hands on deck meetings, especially as we are a smaller company. All the other companies I've worked for splash their twitter feeds, facebook, and websites with their charitable work and good stuff they are doing, yet buffalo is doing and has done some amazing things for their employees but doesn't let anyone know about it. I was shocked at some of the goodness. Get it our there!
