Pros

Car events, cars on sale, loads of car chat. Good hardware. Some great mentors around the engineering team.

Cons

Incorrectly evaluate ROI on new engineers leading to redundancy shortly after starting a role. There’s a bully culture among the consignment teams. There’s a lack of empathy towards roles being made redundant, and you’ll be invited to ‘wash up’ meetings after the fact. A company whom talks about their customers and potential customers behind close doors shows a lack of professionalism. The company hasn’t got much a clue to the right direction for technical scale, just plow time and resource straight into something requested by ‘Monkey’ Agile isn’t practiced well, single line Jira tickets, no suitable acceptance criteria, very vague. Stakeholders receive QA builds and provide nothing more than cynical criticism. Success is not celebrated

Pros

I'm a sucker for the product itself. Love cars. So working with them and marketing a product connected to them was always something of a dream. The company has grown quickly, and with that comes a few pains. That's to be expected. But what's good is they owned them, fixed them and showed good loyalty to those who reflected it back. I had good progression in my time, had a lot of good projects to get my teeth into. Some of the negative reviews are within the sales team, and sales being sales within a principally male interest category, it got a bit alpha. But it never affected me in my role. However I am aware it was addressed and changes put in place to improve both environment and onboarding. There's a lot of interest in scaling, but with that comes the demand of balancing resource and budgets with prioritising where they're going to invest. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. I'd say I've had good experience of winning in those instances. There's also some really good people here, which makes work less of a chore. You actually enjoy what you do because of who you're doing it with.

Cons

Often have a lot of things needing delivery at once, and prioritising can be a challenge. Would have been great to get some extra resource support - agency, contractors, etc for projects. The benefits plan could do with a revisit, and adding in things like a bonus structure, dental, life assurance, etc.

Pros

Working next to the White Horse pub

Cons

Laughable at how bad this company is. Sealed Bids are a joke.
