Pros

From my experience, management always handled things from the perspective of encouragement. If you are proactive and engaged you are trusted and just given a platform and the tools to work with. An existing network of clients, which are shared, but always encouraged to create new business for yourself and the opportunity to take ownership of that, which long term is far more lucrative. There was a good balance of work and fun. A relaxed atmosphere, and always approachable people. A close knit company.

Cons

Some of the other reviews here seem bitter to me. Recruitment isn't right for everyone, it's hard work and you have to have the discipline to get up and create business for yourself, jobs aren't just handed around like in the larger firms, but if you are someone that actually wants to learn, this is probably a great thing. I've been out of the company for around a year now to move into a different industry, I'm only leaving a review as I don't think some of the other representations here are fair, I had fun, received a great foundation in sales and loved the people I worked with.

Pros

- Comprehensive training to set you up for success - Excellent Commission structure—high performers are well-rewarded - Beautiful office in the City of London with great perks (gym membership, coffee, etc.) - A flexible, dynamic workplace that values honest, ethical business practices - Loyal clients and long-term relationships that create stable business opportunities - Management is hands-off but always available when needed—ideal for self-starters - Opportunities for career growth if you're driven and willing to put in the effort

Cons

- The company requires self-motivation—if you’re looking for an easy ride, this isn’t the place - Smaller business means there’s less formal structure, which may not suit everyone - Success requires building strong relationships and a network—this takes time, and you have to be patient and persistent - The business operates in a tough market—sales are challenging, and not everyone thrives in that environment

Pros

Hybrid working in the only one I can think of, but all companies offer this. Long hours with no reward

Cons

Updated review: Please be aware that the company have been able to remove over 7 negative reviews of the company in the past 2 months and have flooded glassdoor with 5* reviews. No company gets completely all 5* reviews. If you are going to create fake reviews at least make them believable. As another review has said please reach out to ex employees for honest reviews. The company lacks basic structure, it is owner led and they are too involved. The company has one of the highest turnovers I’ve ever seen, overall it’s an unhappy place where everyone talks about leaving. Low base salary, bad commission structure, no perks, bad operation and execution. You would gain a lot more experience and exposure going elsewhere, one of the owners thinks they are gods gift when it comes to recruitment and name drops like crazy. However most people you speak to have no idea who he is. Very micromanaged and bad culture, things can get very personal if you are not on the right side of management

The Consultancy Group Response
1y
It is naturally always concerning when we receive any negative feedback from any employees here at The Consultancy Group. Since we started the business nearly a decade ago, we have worked hard to ensure the business is a great place to work, and our aim is to invest in creating the right culture and business environment for all our team to prove successful. As co-founders we make it our business to constantly encourage 360 feedback across our team to ensure we constantly evolve. One of our core values is Transparency, and each of our employees receives a full breakdown and illustration of our commission scheme before they choose to join us. We are constantly meeting potential recruiters from across the industry and to date we are yet to see or hear of a reward scheme that supersedes our transparent scheme. Another core value here at The Consultancy Group is of course relationships, which we pride ourselves on. Our team are incentivised to continually meet and nurture their candidate and client relationships, for without these, our business would not have been as successful as it is to date. The past 18 months has seen some difficult conditions for the Recruitment industry globally, and we made some tough decisions at the start of 2024 to protect our team and company, and ensure we are agile and ready for our next stage of growth. We stand by these decisions, and we are glad our leadership team were as decisive as they were, as they have proven to be the right ones. The Consultancy Group has launched four successful divisions since its inception, the most recent being in the last two months, and we feel incredibly lucky to have attracted the talent we have to ensure our next stage of growth remains profitable and productive, the two key pillars for any successful enterprise.
