Pros
The company hires some of the most caring, talented, creative and all around wonderful employees. I made lifelong friends at the Dodo and all of the drama brought us closer together
Cons
Management is full of some of the meanest, superficial bullies I have ever encountered in my life. When I first started at the Dodo I loved my job, my coworkers and the company's mission to help animals. I signed on for all the same reasons you would THINK management wanted to maintain in a company. A few months in, great managers started leaving the company because of others bullying employees and steamrolling everyone to get their way. It became abundantly clear not only do they not care about the well-being of animals, but they couldn’t care less if their employees were overworked and miserable. Countless people who loved and admired the Dodo, really believed it would be a dream job like myself, were stepped on and bullied by management. The liveliest, happiest employees slowly became dead inside after being ripped apart for making the smallest mistakes and not meeting the impossible quota imposed on the teams. The longer I was there, the more I was being micromanaged and watching everyone around me get attacked by the same people in upper management. Their whole managing tactic is to actually bully employees into compliance rather than building them up and listening to their (often fantastic) ideas. If you’re thinking of applying to the Dodo PLEASE please reconsider. This isn’t just a few people feeling trapped and bullied. Chances are the same thing will happen to you. And if you’re one of the wonderful people left keep your held high, know that it’s not just you, you’re incredibly talented and they truly don’t deserve you. You WILL get out of there. It gets so much better on the other side.
