Pros
- You know your hours 2+ weeks ahead of time - Some perks like free tickets to the Science Center and other San Diego establishments - Free entry to places like other Balboa Park museums, San Diego Zoo, etc. - Actually fun training experience (scavenger hunt, watching an IMAX movie, etc.) - Most coworkers are good people
Cons
- Management is out of touch with the needs of front line staff and doesn't provide an open door for input before decisions are made - Differing requirements from management depending on who the supervisor is that day (for example, I was told that the dress code was "nice pants" during training, but then later got called out for the pants not being black). And I had bought "nice pants" specifically for the job. Had I known they needed to be black, of course I wouldn't have gotten pants I wasn't going to be allowed to wear to work. - Some guests can be really rude (especially some of the older guests, unfortunately). - You get really bored on slow days, and spending time doing anything to occupy yourself (crossword puzzle, etc.) is discouraged - Not a lot of room for personal/professional growth
