Pros

Work from home NOT remote, there's a difference, you get to schedule your own breaks and lunch, you are empowered to make a lot of decisions on your own, they do offer core coins which you can use for gift cards, they have different shift options, you can flex your schedule one day out of each week

Cons

The insurance sucks, they offer a variety of shifts but they do shift bids and it's metric based, they do not value their employees as much as they say they do, you only get TWO paid holidays off but if they hire you around the holidays, good luck getting paid for those holidays lol. You can't use vacation time for the first 6 months of employment, can't use sick time for the first I believe 4 months of employment, you accrue 4 hours of sick time each month and can't go negative in balance so no sick time? No time off! The customers are entitled and rude!! They know Home Depot MO. Listen to the reviews!! If you don't give the customers what they want, they leave a bad survey and all Home Depot cares about is your survey scores. That will make or break you here. Even working in messaging, you WILL be on the phones. Especially if someone chats in about an issue they have with the store because if you don't bend over backwards and do the legwork for them, calling the store for them on a store issue, they will leave a bad survey. THE PAY IS UNLIVABLE!! You WILL have to work at least one weekend at least starting off. Home Depot is just a job for me. Maybe good for someone straight out of high school but for a grown person with real obligations, a family, bills? Good luck. This is not a career and honestly it's a strain on my mental health every dealing with this job. I'm looking for my out now.

Pros

The Home Depot has a solid moral compass. They aren't about sacrificing their ethics for the sake of a sale, which I love. They also hire a diverse group of people and give a lot back to the community. They offer a lot of benefits and little treats for their employees. Although they push their associates to meet quota, they're realistic about what can and can't be accomplished.

Cons

Home Depot has two different sides to it. Store associates and those of us considered "store support" who are payed by the vendors but work in the stores 100% of the time. I constantly hear about how store associates are stressed out by management and their hours are being rearranged a lot, cut, and they often are stretched thin due to lack of full staffing. "Store support" associates who do merchandising have it better than those who work in specific departments. However, you never really gain knowledge unless you have the time to look things up and read packaging.
