Pros

On the bright side, you won't be there long anyway.

Cons

Horrifically low pay, coupled with the worst benefits package I've ever been offered. Super-high deductible health care plan, unless you're willing to shell out $$$$$ each month in premiums -- and even then, the copays and coverage are terrible. Insurance company was constantly denying claims for the flimsiest reasons -- like which brand of instrument the doctor used. No retirement matching. The "unlimited paid time off" is actually just another way to pay you less, since you won't accrue leave, and you'll also never really be able take vacation, as you will be juggling 300 projects at once. You will be gaslit about how you are responsible for completing all of your 300 projects on time without ever going into overtime, so in reality you'll just lie about your overtime, effectively making your hourly wage even lower.

Pros

I don't know if this was my supervisor, but the work culture was 10/10. I never felt over-pressured, there was room to grow, and it felt self-care was really prioritized. I don't want to invalidate anyone's experience, but personally for me THL was the best workplace I have ever been in. My supervisor's emphasis on taking care of myself and validating my hard work and always being there for me really actually helped me overcome my anxiety around work and perfectionist-based procrastination that I've struggled with for a long time. The work was also rewarding it felt like I was making a difference for animals.

Cons

None that I can think of.

Pros

Unlimited PTO and remote work is nice. In addition, the organization places a strong emphasis on DEI initiatives, dedicating significant time and resources to these efforts. While commendable, this focus sometimes appears to overshadow the core mission, leading to a perception that DEI is pursued more as a checkbox exercise than as an integrated aspect of the organization's values

Cons

It is often unclear who to turn to for support or guidance, especially when navigating complex or sensitive issues. While the organization encourages feedback, at times it feels like honest input is not always met with openness or follow-through, which creates hesitation around raising concerns.
