Pros

LSC is one of the most supportive and values-led organisations I’ve worked with. The team truly cares — not just about the students and clients, but also about the staff. Communication is clear, training is well-structured, and there’s always someone to reach out to if you need help. You feel trusted and encouraged to grow professionally. The flexibility is great, especially for those balancing work with other commitments.

Cons

Some roles are remote or part-time, so you might not get as much day-to-day interaction with the wider team — but there are still efforts to build community and stay connected.

Pros

- LSC has a brilliant training programme. We have two specific training weeks per year and there are always very relevant, applicable, and helpful trainings offered to us. - As mentors, we manage our own caseloads. - We have an incredibly supportive office team. Emails are always responded to very promptly, and everyone is happy to help. - Opportunities for career development: there are always opportunities to get involved. For example, I have supported throughout exam season doing reading, scribing, and prompting which I've not done before. I have also been able to attend events with the team too; for example, neurodiversity celebration week, and a university careers fair. I also began as a Specialist Mental Health Mentor, and am now also an ASC mentor too, - LSC are very supportive of staff mental health and wellbeing, ensuring we feel supported. - We receive 6-weekly supervision. - Yearly Professional Development Reviews to discuss our development and goals. - Opportunities to meet with the team for catch-ups. - Opportunity for a hybrid working approach, both face-to-face and virtual.

Cons

None that I have noted to date.
