Pros

-full time -great holidays -3 supervisions with headteacher in first 6 months -small pension -Good weekly staff training for 3 months, then a few more one-off training days. -lovely building -Great facilities for children -Two headteachers are approachable and seem to work tirelessly to keep on top of things

Cons

-no upward progression, very banded, TA can only progress so far within that band, so unlikely to stay. I think higher level TA/subject tutor caps at 21,000. -'The Garden' looks a bit floaty on CV. -Employee of the month, feels very fake and backslapping, more a popularity contest, encourages 'point scoring' type behaviour in some. -tough very physical, children can do some serious damage to you. -gross bits, spitting, nappy changes, smearing! - Sick day leaderboard! Naming and shaming of classes with staff who have most sick days. Working in a close confined space, changing pooey nappies and with children who explore the world through their mouths-bugs are rife. -no supervisions after first 6 months. -Executive head is a total mystery. -interpersonal politics (same as lots of places) . Manipulative and bullying behaviour from certain members of the staff who I'm sure are sweeter than sweet to management.
