Pros
The first thing that comes to mind when thinking of working at The Perfect Workout is the company culture. These days when someone mentions that their company is "like a family" it comes off as a "red flag." The Perfect Workout is the exception, we are a family. My wife and I met at The Perfect Workout, have life long friends whom we've met at The Perfect Workout (some have moved on to other career opportunities and we remain great friends to this day), and we invited several of our members, team members, and members of the executive team to our wedding because of the deep connections we have made over the years.
We are encouraged to have a work life balance. Once your shift is over and you've clocked out, you are done for the day. You are not only encouraged to stop looking at your email, schedule, and related work items, you're practically "required" to live your life outside of The Perfect Workout. Team members go out of their way to help cover shifts to allow others to go on vacation. You are not demonized for taking time off, you're encouraged to take time off. A couple of years ago, I was feeling overly stressed and my regional manager immediately began helping me find coverage so I could take some time off to recharge and take care of things in my life.
You have the autonomy feeling of a business owner while having the support of a couple hundred people to help with anything you may need to improve yourself, your schedule, help your members, etc...
The Perfect Workout has an amazing marketing team that provides you with leads to help fill your schedule. There is no cold calling required, but you do have the ability to seek your own members and receive amazing compensation as a benefit for your efforts.
Similar to any other personal training position at any gym, this is a sales position in addition to a personal training position. However, there is no limit to your compensation. You are giving a base that includes a salary plus commission which provides a living wage and a great ability to make significantly more, and most people do on average. You are given all the tools and support to help you achieve your professional and financial goals.
Cons
I would like to see continuing improvements to our overall benefits, specifically 401(k) matching.
Any cons I have experienced during my career at The Perfect Workout have been solved through discussions with regional managers and members of the executive team. That said, there may be decisions made that someone doesn't agree with, but all decisions made are in the attempts to improve the lives of everyone at The Perfect Workout and continue to expand the business.
Working at The Perfect Workout requires having an open mind and the ability to express one's self in a productive manner rather than from a place of anger or selfishness. I don't consider these cons, but this mindset may not be for everyone. Continued personal growth is a requirement.
