Pros
Great editorial leadership at the top from the two primary editors in charge. Very strong vision about what the paper should and could be and how to make the paper meet those goals. The job recognizes good journalism and it rewards outstanding work, too. Editors are very supportive in reporting embarking on long term projects and investigative work, especially anything that can be sourced and told through data. Positive attitude toward modern storytelling.
Cons
Content management system is archaic, faulty. The website does not support the stories we always want to tell, feel shackled by limitations of the product group and what they've put into our website model.
Editors can at times ask for more than the reporters are willing to give, but I see this as no fault of the reporters. It is hard to be as excited about certain legal decisions and development as the editors. The work can become dry, boring. But that is most work in general.
