Pros

Paid for health benefits; 401k match; profit sharing; friendly customers; outstanding consulting services

Cons

A lot of great promises on the surface. Then you slowly realize commitments, expectations, and support are not executed and in direct conflict with verbal/written promises. First, work life balance is not in the cards here. You fill a role for someone who works 12 - 18 hours/day, including weekends and holidays. Then you are told "We have had a mass problem of previous sales reps who did absolutely nothing. Do not do that. You will be successful if you work 8 hours a day." Then later when you aren't working 12+ hours a day, it's "I know what this job takes because I was successful at it." Reason why is because they are habitual over workers, with a 12+ hours/day and weekends schedule. Leadership works 12 - 18 hours a day; many engineers 12+; sales is 12+. People work to the point of openly admitting they neglect their health, eat poorly, are exhausted, etc. I thought that was their personal choice, not mine. Then the same is expected of you! Second, you are told you will have inside support. Then your inside rep slowly starts doing more outside sales, which is a conflict of interest because their biggest concern is their own sales/quota. Quotes are full of errors and lack of detail to the point that minimal effort is put in. Then you're told "Well, I didn't have inside support when I did your job." However, that is not what we agreed upon when negotiating my contract. Third, expect to wear a lot of hats. This is expected at even medium sized companies, but when you get to a small company like this, it's even more drastic. Inside sales, marketing, project management, engineering, finance, technical writing, & sales. Hence why I mentioned it is impossible to achieve all of this and hit quota, working 40 hours a week! Fourth, watch out for being told you are exceeding expectations, customers love you, constantly being told you are doing a great job, etc. Even so far as being blatantly told you are not close to losing your job. Then you challenge leadership because of blatant dishonesty, and in the blink of an eye, you are disposed of like yesterday's trash! Fifth, when negotiating your contract, make sure they deliver on what the job posting says. The job posting said $90k - 120k salary, based on experience. I was offered $85k first round and told that's because there is "guaranteed" business from accounts you are taking over. No business is guaranteed until the products or services have been delivered and 30+ days have passed. Like one of my accounts being acquired and losing a drastic amount of sales. Sixth, leadership openly admits "I violate our customer NDA all the time!" (Red flag) Bottom line, watch out for warning signs that I ignored and what conflicts with what is being said and what is actually being delivered on. Actions speak louder than words! Lastly, we can all do things differently when looking back on it. I take responsibility for what I learned and will improve upon on the next opportunity. However, so can the employer, who is actually called to a higher standard than employees, unless they are too self righteous to take a look in the mirror!

Pros

Nicest people you will ever meet. They really know how to support and motivate. Very tech savvy folks who love what they do.

Cons

None. One of the best places I have worked.
