Pros

It is a great way to learn business, selling, and management techniques. The potential for growth is excellent and those that stick with it can do well.

Cons

The work/life balance is no balance at all. On their official sheet, the day ends at 5:30 but it typically lasts a lot longer than that. They are not upfront with their structure and hours. Expect to work 60 hours a week with little compensation. Their market is dwindling and conflicts with other offices. Mileage is not reimbursed.

Hi Reviewer! Thanks for your feedback. We're not a "direct marketing pyramid" since that's an illegal business practice. We're upfront about our performance based- compensation and advancement structure- perhaps that's what you perceived as judgmental. We don't agree that its a company's job to provide "work/life" balance for employees, since employees choose how their time is spent outside of the office. We hope you were able to find something that was a better fit.

Pros

After college, I dabbled in a few different industries, but couldn't really find a place where I felt like I could both add value, and gain something for myself at the same time. I searched online to see what was out there, and was intrigued by The So Cal Group's Leadership Development Program. I was a little intimidated by the sales and marketing industry at first, but I quickly realized I could master the skills I needed, if I followed their outlined training program. I'm really glad I stuck with it because, I feel like so far I've gained a lot of other transferable skills that I can use no matter where I end up in life. After I mastered the basics of the campaign, I was more involved in the business training portion of their Leadership Program. They coach and develop employees on topics like business finance, Franklin Covey priority management, interviewing, training others, public speaking, and business development. I think it's great that I get all this business experience by showing up to work willing to learn.

Cons

The only reasons I think people wouldn't like working for the company would be if they don't want to work hard or be asked to perform, or if they don't want to put in the effort to learn basic sales and marketing. You have to have a student mentality, good work ethic, and good attitude. If you don't, this is not for you.
