Pros
I felt good about my work every day. I loved my colleagues. In the day-to-day, we had a lot of autonomy over how we did our work and freedom to take initiative on (most) projects. The salary was a definite mark above a minimum wage job like the retail job I left to work here.
Cons
The management (who will claim they are not "management") push their philosophy of non-hierarchical work and "free-form and conversation-based" workflows. In practice what this means is that nobody really knows whats going on except for a few people - and they won't answer your questions. There is a hierarchy, both in the sense that there really are people in charge who you need to go through to get certain things done, and in a deeper sense there is a knowledge hierarchy where some people know whats happening and some people don't.
