Pros
I was promoted from within to be the Youth & Family Director. The onboarding process was very disorganized and there was no manual for me to go by. If I didn't already know how the organization was, I would have been very lost. I was in charge of all of the children's programming including, Yplay, YAC, Birthday parties, Parent's Night Out, Children's Dance Classes, the rock wall, & Day Camp. I was responsible for all of these employees, around 35, getting all of the needed supplies, budgeting/ forecasting, scheduling, advertising (creating flyers & social media posts), and making sure everything was safe for the children and staff.
Cons
I did not receive support. I was gaslighted and talked about behind my back. My accommodations were not taken seriously. It was a toxic and unprofessional environment. I reached out to upper-management to get support, which was ignored . My plate was very full and I was given little help. I am so disappointed in an organization that parades itself as being Christian. In spite of all of this, I LOVED my job. I LOVED helping the children in this community have a fun time in a safe environment.
